Hitler AIDS commercial banned on youtube
0
A German AIDS awareness television commercial showing a Adolf Hitler lookalike having sex was pulled from YouTube on Wednesday. The commercial is still available here, and is due to be viewed via german television and theatres this week and has been criticised for stigmatising people infected with HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. A message on YouTube says that the clip has been removed “due to terms of use violation,” without giving further details.
The marketing campaign also shows poster designs featuring Saddam Hussein and Joseph Stalin, each with a naked woman, under the same slogan. Stephan Kramer, secretary-general of the Central Council of Jews in Germany, told the French news agency AFP that while the ad might gain attention for an important issue, it was
“an insult to the victims of the Nazi era, among them gays and lesbians who were sent to concentration camps in the thousands.”
